Sale Summary February 2010

Campbell Town Showground was the venue for Tasmania’s first multi-vendor dohne ram sale on Wednesday 17th February. Registered studs from Tasmania, Victoria and NSW offered a well presented line up of pure-bred dohne rams.
Rams sold to $2,100 and averaged a healthy $1,145.
The top price ram was sold by the Macquarie Stud, Warren NSW to Woodlock Stud Canowindra, NSW. The ram had figures of +13.2 body weight, +1.10 for eye muscle, -0.20 for fibre diameter and an index of 122.6.
Macquarie along with daughter stud Havelock Park Stratford, Vic sold the two second top priced rams at $1800 to AW Singline & Sons, Weldborough and Steve & Debbie Buckland, Winkleigh.
Local stud Breeders Neil & Diane Watson Pine View Stud were the only stud to record a 100% clearance with their top ram selling to AW Singline & Sons for $1,000.
Glenaroua Stud Kilmore Vic sold a ram to Lochiel Pastoral Ross for $1,400.
Other buyers included Colin Gibson Epping Forest, AN & KJ Hitchens Sandy Bay, WA & RV Webster Woodbury, GR & S Bull Swansea, JR Nicholson & Sons Campbell Town and Patrick McShane Avoca.
In the breakdown Havelock Park sold 2 from 4 for a $1,300 average, Macquarie sold 13 from 15 for a $1,245 average, Glenaroua sold 4 from 16 for a $950 average and Pine View sold 3 from 3 for an $866 average.
