An exceptional female with a proven record of producing extremely dense progeny, joined to an exceptional male.
Some of the features to note with this alpaca are:
- A dense female that has produced several really dense offspring. She is the dam of Flowerdale Ardrossan who is the highest density alpaca on our farm with a follicle density of over 61 (50% denser than good Australian alpaca).
- Ardrossan is the winner of the 2008 Commercial Fleece Championship at the Canberra Royal Show.
- Arenaria was classed by Dr Watts in 2008 as a high density female recommended for use as an ET donor. She has subsequently been sucessfully in our ET work.
- Arenaria is joined to Camelot Tor (shown below displaying his Supreme Champion ribbons after the Royal Melbourne Show). Tor is another really dense male classed by Dr Jim Watts as a recommended Wool sire.
The joining of these 2 elite alpaca is sure to produce an outstanding result early in 2010.
