History of Boongatti Charolais Stud
We began our stud by purchasing females from as many different studs as possible, believing that, by not concentrating on one specific line of females and by supporting all breeders, a larger gene pool would be created. With an extensive infusion of genetics through Artificial Insemination, our own unique blend of Charolais female has been achieved. This successful programme was validated in 2004 when Boongatti Quiche 5 won Junior and Grand Champion Female at the National Show and Sale Tamworth and then again in 2007 with Boongatti Butterfly winning Junior Champion Female at Brisbane Royal Queensland Show.
Over the past 23 years we have come a long way, from 30 cows on 70 acres to 120 registered females and progeny on 1000 acres. We have a passion for breeding the best Charolais that we can, and strive to continue to always improve. We are members of Breedplan.
We pride ourselves on our hands on, personal approach to breeding and showing our cattle. We are a family based operation where everything from Sire selection, Artificial Insemination, animal husbandry and showing, is handled by our family members, no managers or other staff are employed. So when we say we know our cattle we really do.
For that personal touch, Trust Boongatti for your next Charolais.
Predictable, Reliable, Consistent Genetics.
