Windy Hill Thoroughbreds is situated approx.85kms North-East of Melbourne just off the Hume Highway, nestled in “The Valley of a Thousand Hills” at beautiful picturesque Strath Creek, where “VAIN” a legend in the Horse Racing Industry was raised, and on this very property called in days gone by “Sunnyglen”, “Blazing Sword” was bred and raised.
Windy Hill Thoroughbreds is spread out on 50 Lush green acres with 9 paddocks some with shelters and dams, and all hot wired for safety. The property unfortunately suffered the “Black Saturday” Bushfires, but after 6 long hard months is up and running again – with an abundance of feed (re-sown pastures).
Max & Judi were lucky enough to be part-owners of “Keltrice” who won VRC Lightning Stakes,Mollison Handicap,Criterion Quality, and placed in Moir,Gadsden, Linlithgow and 2nd in the Group One Blue Diamond Stakes.
Keltrice then went to Stud, and Max & Judi decided to try the breeding side of Race Horses, and have had up to 12 Broodmares over the 16 years, and produced some very successful Thoroughbred Race Horses – the likes of “Speaker” VOBIS
Horse of the Year, “Blue Magic”, “Sheedy’s Sheila” “Jeunique”, “She Rules”, “Lifes a Joy”, “Surely You Jest”, “Spacelab”, and Kenobi who has been very successful in Hong Kong.

William Inglis Classic/Melb Premier Yearling/Autumn Sales. They have 2 stand-out Colts entered for the 2010 Sales – Dubai Destination/Jessie Rae, Primus/Lacrimosa. Their Broodmares this year are in foal to –Street Sense, Hardspun, Bel Esprit, and will be visiting the Stallions – Gods Own,Bel Esprit, Snippetson and Not a Single Doubt.
Windy Hill Thoroughbreds specialize in agistment of Broodmares, Weaning and rearing young horses, as well as Walk- Ins to various Stallions located within an hour of the property. We have several clients from S.Australia, sending their Broodmares over to us for foaling down, vet scans and walk in coverings to the Stallions located at Darley Stud,Swettenham Stud,Eliza Park Stud, Rangal Park Stud etc, and our agistment rates can’t be beaten. All horses on the property are checked and fed twice a day, and seem to go home to our clients in top condition ready for the coming foaling season.
