About Narrawin Stud

Narrawin Stud was established at Bega in 1995. It all started with the purchase of two weanling Saddlebred horses, followed by a young Peruvian colt, Precioso. Soon after, another two Saddlebred fillies were added, then the Saddlebred stallion Tintalle Golden Demon moved to the property.

We concentrate on breeding gaited horses in the form of pure Saddlebreds, pure Peruvians and Paso Creole horses. Paso Creoles are horses which carry at least 50% of Paso blood, either Peruvian Paso or Paso Fino.

Rider Training

We cater for riders who wish to learn about riding gaited horses, by teaching how to recognise gaits and how to ask their horse to perform a particular gait. We can assist people who already own a gaited horse and who wish to learn more or need some help.

We can also help riders who may have some general problems with their horse.

Horse Starting & Training

We start and train all our own horses here at Narawin Stud. Not only does it give invaluable insight into each horse, but it ensures that they get the best possible start to a career under saddle, particularly in the case of gaited prospects.

Education

We are more than happy to accomodate visitors wishing to find out more about gaited horses and hope to be running short courses for gaited horses in the future.

We are happy to show the horses and facilities to school and TAFE classes, clubs and other organisations. We also welcome veterinary science and other students wishing to undertake some practical work. We may have on-farm accomodation available from mid 2007 onwards.
