Brayelle Charolais is owned by JD Otto & Sons and is operated by Simon and Renee Otto in the Upper Yarraman district. Our aim is to breed  ‘Affordable Quality’ Bulls for the commercial cattle industry that will deliver great results no matter which market you target.

Our first Charolais cattle were purchased from Mr George Margrie in 1980, who had been breeding charolais cattle since the early 70’s at “Redvale” Upper Yarraman where we still are today. Coincidently the Griffin’s [Temana stud] purchased the majority of George’s herd with some others selling to the Conroy stud.

In 1992 we purchased additional cattle from Mr Rick Pisaturo at the Mandalong dispersal; these cattle form the basis of our commercial herd.

After 22 years breeding Charolais & Charolais cross cattle and being thoroughly convinced of the benefits of the breed, the decision to progress into the stud industry was made in 2003 with the formation of ‘Brayelle’ Charolais. Our herd was founded on females purchased at dispersals from studs such as “Roscoe”, “Bunya-vale”, "Conroy" and “Avalon”, with many quality additions since then. Stud Sires are “Gobongo Wisconsin” and “St Antonio Windsor” Supreme unled exibit at the 2004 Nationals.

In 2006 we purchased “Colinta Zeke” the 2006 Sydney junior champion and his first calves are on the ground now and are just what we were hoping for.  With the change in the weather we hope to utilize the AI tank in the coming season, with great sires like “Bunya-Vale The Golden Orb” the 2000 National Champion and other great Conroy sires on offer.  We now have over 100 stud breeders plus a commercial herd.

Over the years many herd bulls have been sold locally and into central and western QLD as well as NSW with repeat clients.

All stock are guaranteed breeders.  Any claim against an animals breeding capacity MUST BE MADE WITHIN 6 MONTHS AFTER SALE DATE and will be strictly handled as under Section17 of Agents Terms & Conditions. 

Our ‘Redvale’ property operates in a tick protected area.  After initial property inspection and treatment at our end, cattle are free to pass into clean country.
